And so on...

July 13:

Lots to cover, so lets get started.

Yesterday was our first day on the Tour and we awoke early. Avin and Richard joined us in going to Grenoble. We walked around and caught the first stage of the Tour, after going to the Office of Tourism. They speqk English, have the internet connection, and give you local maps on where to go. I hope we have this easy time in every country.

Seeing the Tour before it launches was fun, where the caravan gets started with all the corporate sponsors. We walked down a main road and saw the riders pass much earlier than exêcted, but we got some pics. This was a non competitive start to the race as they do in all cities, but it gave us something to look forward to as Tres and I thought about going to Courchavel to catch the end of the stage. French pizza for lunch, and said goodbye to Avin and Richard. Hertz had our supah small Fiat and we blazed trails to Courcheval to see the end of the race. Very tired, we mqde it there and thought that we were going to miss the race since they were cutting folks off and putting them to Moutiers. So blind luck rolls a 20, which some people know what that gaming terminology means, and as we pull into a parking lot to nap due to our tiredness, and lo the Tour is preparing top pass through Moutiers. Score! We hop out and jump over the wall to catch them as they zoom by. After this its naptime, and then trying to find out next place we go to Albertville, where there is no room. Scraping our way to Chambery, I grab a hotel as my body is shutting down. I sleep for 11 hours, and it was necessary.
